About The CourseThe cost is £95 including pre-course material, payable in advance. The entire syllabus is taught on the one day course although some pre-course study is part of the course. The phonetic alphabet should be memorised as should the mayday procedure including the voice message.
We can also supply you with the RYA VHF Handbook publication free of charge. A short exam paper is taken at the end of the day and candidates will be sent their VHF Short Range Operators Certificate direct from the RYA. Candidates must bring a current passport size photograph of themselves and a cheque payable to RYA for £60.
In the unusal event of a failure there is a charge of £15 to re-sit the course.
Student Numbers
Student numbers are kept to a maximum of 3 students per course although we can arrange bespoke courses for a student in for a small additional charge.
